Baghaei: Do Not Distort the Truth by Calling the “Aggressive War on Iran” an “Iranian Conflict”

In response to the use of the phrase “Iranian conflict” in the positions of certain parties—including the joint statement by Qatari and French officials—the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Esmail Baghaei, stated: “Do not distort the truth by calling the ‘aggressive war on Iran’ an ‘Iranian conflict’.”

Responding to the use of the term “Iranian clash/conflict” in statements by certain parties, including the joint Qatari-French statement, Baghaei wrote in a post on the X platform on Thursday evening:

“Please do not try to hide the truth behind misleading interpretations. There is no such thing as an ‘Iranian conflict’; the clear truth is the ‘aggressive war against Iran’ waged by America and Israel.”

He added:”Refusing to call ‘aggression’ by its true name is not neutrality, but a form of moral evasion. If we do not possess the moral courage to name ‘aggression’ and identify the ‘aggressor,’ how can we claim to have the courage to face injustice, the ability to offer practical solutions, or the capacity to contribute effectively to peace?”

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson continued: “Peace cannot be built by appeasing aggressors, legitimizing aggression, condemning the victim, or sacrificing fundamental principles.”
