The Resistance Committees in Palestine said the outcome of Israeli elections would not alter the fundamental nature of the occupation, stressing that Palestinians place no expectations on changes in the Israeli government.
In a statement, the committees described the Israeli elections as an internal Israeli affair, arguing that the competing parties, despite their different names and ideologies, serve the same system of occupation and continue policies of aggression, settlement expansion, displacement and the destruction of Palestinian communities.
They said changes in governments or political leadership would not alter the Zionist project’s objectives, including the seizure of Palestinian land, the Judaization of holy sites and the erasure of Palestinian national identity.

“The Palestinian people’s national and historical rights are inalienable and cannot be granted or revoked through Israeli elections or political alliances,” the statement read.
“They future of the Palestinian people would be determined by their own will, steadfastness and attachment to their land and legitimate national rights,” it added.
Reaffirming their position on Palestine’s territorial rights, the Resistance committees said Palestinians would continue to struggle for freedom, the right of return and liberation until their rights were restored and the occupation ended.
The statement concluded that the decisive factors were Palestinian unity, steadfastness and adherence to national rights, rather than the identity of the party that emerges victorious in the Israeli elections.
