Israeli Settler Violence Escalates Across West Bank and Jerusalem: Injuries, Torched Vehicles, and Targeted Farmers’ Livelihoods

Settlers escalated their attacks against Palestinian citizens and their property across various parts of the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem on Tuesday, in a series of assaults targeting farmers, schoolchildren, and agricultural assets that resulted in several injuries and the burning of two vehicles.

In occupied Jerusalem, a number of Palestinians suffered from tear gas inhalation this morning after Israeli occupation forces fired tear gas canisters and sound grenades at them as they attempted to reach their agricultural lands in the town of Beit Anan, northwest of the city.

Local sources reported that occupation forces targeted dozens of Palestinians attempting to access their land in the Al-Salaqat and Al-Buraij areas on the outskirts of the town, preventing them from harvesting olives. Meanwhile, settlers—under the protection of the occupation forces—attacked the Palestinians and blocked them from reaching their property.

In Nablus, settlers set fire to two vehicles in the village of Majdal Bani Fadil, south of the city, in the early hours of Tuesday.

Local sources stated that settlers raided the northern part of the village and torched two vehicles belonging to Wadi’ Zein al-Din and Alaa Zein al-Din, which were parked in front of their homes.

In Hebron, settlers—protected by occupation forces—blocked the path of students from Khirbet Asfi in Masafer Yatta, south of the city, and detained them while they were on their way to schools in Al-Majaz and Al-Fakhit.

These assaults hinder children from reaching their schools and threaten their right to education, compounding the ongoing restrictions faced by students and their families in the communities of Masafer Yatta.

The attacks extended to the Northern Jordan Valley, where, last night, settlers targeted agricultural greenhouses near the villages of Bardala and Kardala.

Human rights activist Aref Daraghmeh reported that settlers attacked greenhouses belonging to local farmers in the vicinity of the two villages—a fresh assault on agricultural property and the livelihoods of the residents.

These attacks are part of a recurring pattern of aggression targeting land, property, and the essential elements of life in the Northern Jordan Valley. They exacerbate the suffering of farmers and intensify the pressures exerted on Palestinians to force them to leave their land.

Escalation of Attacks

According to the Commission Against the Wall and Settlements, occupation forces and settlers carried out 3,133 attacks against Palestinian citizens, their land, and their property during the month of October.

The Commission stated that this escalation reflects an expansion in the scope of settler violence, with military and settler-driven tactics working in tandem to target the Palestinian presence and the foundations of their continued existence on their own land.
