Hezbollah is Not Neutral in Any War on Iran: Sheikh Qassem

Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem said it clear on Monday: Neutrality is not an option in case of any war on Iran.

In a ceremony in solidarity with the Islamic Republic, its leadership and people, Sheikh Qassem warned that the war on Iran this time could ignite the entire region.

His eminence stressed that Hezbollah considers threat against Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei to be directed at the Lebanese resistance group as well.

The Hezbollah S.G. revealed that mediators over the past two months wanted to take pledge that Hezbollah won’t interfere in any potential war on Iran.

Sheikh Qassem, in this context, stressed that Hezbollah is included and targeted in any potential aggression, vowing to defend itself.

“Silence is Not Option”

Addressing the ceremony via video link, Sheikh Qassem stressed that Hezbollah “believes in Wilayt Al-Faqih (Gurdian of the Jurist) as both a matter of faith and a fundamental principle.”

He affirmed that silence is not an option for the Lebanese resistance group when it comes to threatening Leader Imam Khamenei.

“When Trump or anyone else threaten to kill the Leader, they are threatening millions of people or even more. Silence is not an option when death threats are directed at Imam Khamenei.”

“We consider death threat against Imam Khamenei to be directed at us as well, we have full authority to do what we deem appropriate.”

“Iran Beacon of Freedom”

Sheikh Qassem hailed Iran as a beacon of freedom, saying it “managed to advance scientifically, socially, morally, and culturally.”

“Iran witnessed 12 days of aggression and managed through cooperation and solidarity to remain resilient and thwart the US-Israeli enemy’s schemes under the leadership of Imam Khamenei,” he added.

Commenting on the latest riots across the Islamic Republic, Sheikh Qassem said: “Enemies sought to overthrow the Islamic establishment in Iran by exploiting the socio-economic conditions, infiltrating vandals into legitimate protests.”

In this context, the Hezbollah leader stressed that Iran has the right to peaceful nuclear weapons, missile power, and other capabilities to defend itself, and it has the right to support the oppressed.

“Sword of War”

Sheikh Qassem noted that the US and the Israeli enemy are linking today Lebanon, Gaza, Syria, Iran, and the region with a “single colonial project,” warning that the enemies want to strike any Resistance project, “wherever it exists in the region.”

“The enemies are exerting pressures on Lebanon and keeping the sword of war hanging over us.”

Meanwhile, Sheikh Qassem revealed details on the contacts between Hezbollah and mediators regarding a potential war on the Islamic Republic.

“I will reveal: Over the past two months, mediators contacted Hezbollah to take a pledge that the party will not interfere if the US and ‘Israel’ launch a war on Iran,” his eminence said.

He went on to say that the mediators “told us clearly that ‘Israel’ and US are considering whether it is better to strike Hezbollah first and then Iran, to strike Iran first and then Hezbollah, or to strike both together.”

Elaborating on Hezbollah’s answer, Sheikh Qassem said: “Such messages mean that with all possibilities, Hezbollah is included and targeted in any potential aggression and we are determined to defend ourselves.”

“We will choose how to act in due course, but we are not neutral in this battle,” the Lebanese resistance leader affirmed.

“With Surrender We Lose Everything”

He noted that “some might say there is no parity in power”, and that Hezbollah “might be dragging Lebanon into a new war.

His eminence commented on such remarks by wondering: “Who said that defense is limited to parity in power?!”.

“We are the ones dragging Lebanon into a war, while you are the ones selling Lebanon to American hegemony and implementing the American-Israeli project!”.

Sheikh Qassem stressed that the arrogant narrative of US, ‘Israel’ and their allies “is based on submission to the control of oppressive powers.”

He noted, in this context, that “with surrender we lose everything and there are no limits, but with defense hope endures.”

His eminence addressed enemies as saying: “Do not threaten us with death, for it is not in your hands but in the hands of God Almighty. However, dignity and honor are in our hands, and we will not relinquish them, for they are our responsibility.”

He concluded the speech by saluting the Islamic Republic and by addressing the Iranian nation: “You are the crown jewel. We are with you and you are with us”
