West Bank: Occupation Carries Out a New Campaign of Attacks Against Residents

On Monday evening, Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out a series of attacks and raids in various areas of the occupied West Bank, resulting in injuries among Palestinians and widespread property damage. These attacks included assaults on homes, the uprooting of trees, and the conversion of houses into military outposts.

In Khirbet al-Kharaba, southeast of the town of As-Samu’, south of Hebron, armed settlers attacked the homes of the Daghameen family under the direct protection of Israeli soldiers. Anti-settlement activist Osama Makhameh told the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) that the settlers assaulted residents, injuring Munee’ Daghameen with bruises and contusions. A young man, Uday Daghameen, and a woman fainted after being sprayed with pepper spray and were subsequently transferred to Yatta Governmental Hospital for treatment.

In the town of Jaljulia, north of Ramallah, clashes erupted after groups of settlers stormed the area. The clashes included live fire directed at a house, the destruction of solar panels, and the theft of security cameras. WAFA news agency reported that large groups of settlers gathered near the Jaljulia sub-gate in the al-Batin area amid heightened tensions.

In Qalqilya, a Palestinian man was critically wounded by Israeli occupation forces. He was transferred to Darwish Nazzal Governmental Hospital after being received by Red Crescent crews at the eastern checkpoint. His condition was described as critical, and no further information was available regarding the circumstances of his injury.

In Ramallah Governorate, Israeli occupation forces raided the village of al-Mughayyir on Monday evening, deploying in several neighborhoods and firing stun grenades. The head of the village council, Amin Abu Aliya, reported that the forces detained a young man before releasing him later, with no injuries reported.

Israeli occupation forces also raided the villages of Kafr Malik and Burqa. Stun grenades were fired in Kafr Malik, while no arrests or raids were reported in Burqa.

In southern Bethlehem, Israeli bulldozers uprooted approximately 200 mature grapevines in the town of al-Khader, specifically in the Umm Rukba area. Husni Issa, the deputy mayor of al-Khader, explained that the trees belonged to citizens Muhammad Gharib and Hassan Salah, who had been previously notified of their land’s confiscation for settlement purposes.

In the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, Israeli forces stormed and seized the home of Ali Muhammad Othman Abu al-Hilu, forcibly evicting the family and converting it into a military barracks.

Since the start of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 8, 2023, the occupying entity, through its army and settlers, has escalated its attacks in the West Bank, including killings, the demolition of homes and structures, forced displacement, and settlement expansion.

Palestinians assert that these escalating attacks pave the way for the de facto annexation of the West Bank, undermining any possibility of implementing the two-state solution stipulated in UN resolutions.

According to official Palestinian figures, these attacks have resulted in the deaths of at least 1,110 Palestinians in the West Bank, the injury of approximately 11,500 others, and the arrest of more than 21,000 Palestinians.
