Lebanese Groups Rally in Beirut to Denounce Israeli Attacks, Back Resistance

National political parties, youth organizations, and student groups held a mass rally in front of the ESCWA building at Riad Al-Solh Square on Wednesday, denouncing the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon and expressing support for the resistance. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to the resistance’s weapons and called on the Lebanese state to abandon what they described as a submissive approach toward the Israeli enemy.

Support for Resistance, Opposition to Israeli Aggression

Member of Parliament and Loyalty to the Resistance bloc representative Ali Fayyad addressed the rally, condemning the attacks and reiterating support for the resistance.

Fayyad stated, “If the enemy believes that by killing our people every day and destroying villages and homes it can force us to abandon the path of resistance, it is mistaken. These calculations and bets will collapse.”

He criticized the Lebanese authorities, noting that they had neither released prisoners nor liberated Lebanese territory nor facilitated the return of residents to the border villages. “The national stance cannot be managed by retreating, adopting a downward trajectory, or succumbing to the enemy’s demands,” he added.

MP Fayyad emphasized the need for a strong, sovereign, and effective Lebanese state capable of exerting influence in its negotiations. He called for “coordination and integration with the resistance, while maintaining the strong cards held by the Lebanese people.”

He also highlighted key national demands: “We seek the enemy’s withdrawal from our land, the release of our prisoners, the return of residents to the frontline villages, and the right to defend our security and stability in this critical stage. Negotiations must be effective and impactful in achieving national objectives.”

MP Fayyad underscored that “the Lebanese Army is our national army, standing with its people,” and reaffirmed the importance of national unity as the main pillar against external pressures and the priority of maintaining internal stability.

This homeland is ours, this land is ours, and we will not yield an inch of it, Fayyad concluded.
