Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Ali Fayyad underlined on Friday importance of acting responsibly in order to face the different forms of pressures and challenges facing Lebanon.

His remarks were during a political meeting with the residents of Blida southern border town in Beirut’s southern suburb, Dahiyeh.

“There is no doubt that the country is at a sensitive and critical crossroads, which requires everyone to act with the highest degree of responsibility, in order to save this country and move it to the safe shore, and so that we can all face these many pressures and challenges.”

He warned that there are clear pressures, especially at this stage, pushing towards turning the area north of the Litani River into a space for escalating tensions between the Lebanese army, the resistance, and the popular base of the resistance.

“We believe that the Lebanese Army command possesses the wisdom, national responsibility, and awareness needed to navigate this critical phase with the utmost maturity, rationality, and a strong sense of duty,” MP Fayyad noted.

In this context, he hailed the Lebanese Army is the national army, describing its officers and soldiers as “our sons,” and adding: “We are its people.”

“We will certainly deal with this stage in a way that prevents the enemies from achieving their goals.”

The Hezbollah lawmaker affirmed that the resistance has no armed presence, neither north of the Litani River nor elsewhere, and it has no military movements that violate the sovereignty of the state or the field operations and role of the Lebanese Army.

“We call on everyone to be aware of the potential risks, and to emphasize the importance of dialogue, communication and consultation, so that we can prevent the enemy from turning the problem from being a problem between Lebanon and the Israeli enemy into a problem between the Lebanese themselves.”
