The Lebanese House Speaker Nabih Berri voiced sorrow over the fact that some political parties raise the issue of the upcoming parliamentary elections and neglect the threat of the Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
In a press interview, Speaker Berri affirmed that the elections would be held on time, adding that he withdrew his proposal to delay the elections in order to let the expatriates vote in Lebanon because it was rejected.
Speaker Berri also underlined that the essence of the elections is the popular will which legitimatizes any vote, regardless of the form-related issues.
It is worth noting that the parliamentary elections will be held early May amid political debates regarding the vote law.
