Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met on Wednesday in Doha with Mohammad Darwish, head of Hamas’s Leadership Council, and a senior delegation from the movement to discuss the latest political developments in the region and the ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip.
During the meeting, Larijani reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, praising the Palestinian people’s sacrifices, resilience, and resistance. He underscored the Islamic Republic’s continued support for their struggle across all arenas and forums. Larijani also briefed the delegation on recent developments within Iran and the course of ongoing negotiations with the United States, noting that the Palestinian people have demonstrated exemplary steadfastness and resolve in confronting mounting challenges.

For his part, Darwish outlined the dire humanitarian and field conditions in Gaza amid the Israeli occupation’s continued violations and its failure to uphold the terms of the ceasefire agreement. He stressed Hamas’s commitment to implementing the agreement and avoiding a return to war.
Darwish affirmed that the Palestinian resistance remains steadfast, fulfilling its national and moral responsibilities in defending its people. He said efforts are ongoing to halt the aggression, lift the blockade, ensure the sustained flow of humanitarian aid, and alleviate the suffering of Gaza’s population.
The talks also addressed escalating tensions in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank, particularly in light of the Israeli enemy’s continued policies and the Knesset’s recent approval of measures aimed at annexing parts of the West Bank—steps described as dangerous and a direct assault on the Palestinian people’s inalienable national rights.
Darwish reiterated Hamas’s solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and rejected any aggression against its territory, warning that attacks on Iran or any regional state would undermine regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by Khaled Meshaal, Nizar Awadallah, Husam Badran, Sami Khater, and Basem Naim.
