Iranian Ambassador Mojtaba Amani expressed his gratitude to the Lebanese people, with all their sects, for their affection for the Islamic Republic of Iran, affirming Iran’s unwavering support for the Lebanese people in all circumstances.
Ambassador Amani’s remarks came during a ceremony held by the municipal council of Maaysara, Keserwan, following the presentation of a gift from the Iranian people to the residents of Maaysara. The event was attended by a large gathering of residents from the town and surrounding areas.
Ambassador Amani emphasized the importance of solidarity and unity in light of the threats and intimidation threatening the region, asserting that the people of the region are the sole guarantors of their homelands’ sovereignty.
Amani paid tribute to the martyrs of Lebanon, foremost among them Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, the master of the nation’s martyrs, and all other martyrs. He stated that the Iranian people, during the recent Israeli aggression against Lebanon, harbored great affection and love for the Lebanese people, and that no entity could create a rift between the two nations, nor could any aggression break them.
For his part, in his welcoming remarks, the Mayor of Maaysara, Zuhair Amro, emphasized the historical relationship between the Lebanese and Iranian peoples, calling on all Lebanese to embrace national unity and to refrain from hate speech and divisive rhetoric. Amro stressed that the gift presented by the Iranian people to the residents of Maaysara would illuminate its main roads and alleys, and was a message of love and connection to all the people of the region.
The ceremony honoring Ambassador Amani concluded with Mayor Zuhair Amro presenting a book about the town’s history and a visit to the Maaysara Martyrs’ Cemetery, where prayers were recited for the souls of the martyrs.
