West Bank: Occupation Forces Detain Civilians in Overnight Raids

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale campaign across the West Bank late Friday night, continuing into the early hours of Saturday, during which they kidnapped a number of Palestinian citizens and conducted extensive raids on family homes.

According to local sources, the IOF kidnapped a citizen in the town of Ya’bad, south of Jenin, and briefly detained Omar, the son of senior Hamas official Adnan Hamarsha, following violent incursions into residential properties before releasing him.

In al-Khalil (Hebron), occupation forces assaulted several young men in the town of Beit Awwa, seized vehicles in Deir Samet west of the city, and stormed the towns of Taffuh and Kharas. Reports also indicate that a citizen was kidnapped from the hamlet of Khirbet al-Fakhit in Masafer Yatta, south of al-Khalil.

In the Salfit governorate, two young men were taken prisoner during an IOF raid on the town of Deir Ballut.

The IOF also carried out home raids in several other areas across the occupied West Bank, though no arrests were reported in those instances.
