Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam discussed on Friday the general situation in Lebanon, with particular focus on developments in the country’s South and Bekaa amid ongoing Israeli attacks.
Lebanese Presidency reported the meeting at Baabda Presidential Palace, noting that the top two leaders also tackled preparations for the international conference scheduled in Paris next month to support the Lebanese Armed Forces and Internal Security Forces.
Aoun and Salam further addressed measures taken to deal with recent building collapses in Tripoli, including sheltering affected residents and reinforcing structures at risk of collapse, according to the Lebanese Presidency.
The Presidency, meanwhile, reaffirmed ongoing coordination among relevant authorities to closely monitor security and service developments and ensure swift responses to urgent needs.

Also on Friday, President Aoun haired a security meeting at Baabda Palace, attended by the Ministers of Defense and Interior, the Army Commander, and the Director General of the Internal Security Forces.
The meeting was dedicated to reviewing the outcomes and discussions of the recent talks held in Cairo, within the framework of preparations for the international conference to support the Lebanese Armed Forces and Internal Security Forces, scheduled to take place in Paris on March 5.
Earlier on Thursday, Israeli occupation warplanes launched a series of airstrikes across Lebanon’s Bekaa, in a fresh violation of the ceasefire which ended the brutal Israeli war on Lebanon between September and November 2024.
