Hezbollah: Resistance Response Was Defensive, Officials Must Move to Halt Israeli Aggression

Hezbollah Statements

Hezbollah’s Islamic Resistance in Lebanon affirmed on Tuesday its latest strike against an Israeli occupation military barracks was a legitimate act of self-defense, urging concerned parties and officials to focus their efforts on ending the ongoing Israeli aggression—the direct cause of the escalating situation in Lebanon.

In a statement, Hezbollah stressed that the Islamic Resistance’s operation targeting a military installation inside the occupied Palestinian territories was a lawful defensive measure. The group argued that continued aggression cannot be justified under any pretext, asserting that confrontation in such circumstances is a legitimate right.

Hezbollah maintained that its action was a direct response to sustained attacks, undertaken primarily on national grounds and aimed at restoring security and stability for communities across Lebanon.

“The operation reflected what it characterized as a responsibility to safeguard Lebanese territory and civilians in the face of continued hostilities.”

The statement further affirmed that the Israeli occupation army has waged a relentless military campaign against Lebanon for the past fifteen months, marked by killings, widespread destruction, land clearance, and what it described as various forms of criminal conduct. Hezbollah said political and diplomatic efforts during this period have failed to curb the aggression or compel the Israeli enemy to adhere to the ceasefire agreement and its provisions.

Hezbollah added that it had repeatedly warned that aggression without response cannot continue indefinitely. Assassinations and destruction, it said, cannot persist unchecked.

The group concluded by calling for an end to the aggression by all available means, urging what it described as serious, urgent, and effective action to halt the ongoing escalation.
