Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Tuesday told members of the Quintet Committee that the Cabinet resolution reaffirming the exclusive authority over decisions of war and peace, and banning so-called “illegal military and security activities,” is “a sovereign and final decision with no reversal.”
Aoun added that the Cabinet tasked the Lebanese Army and security forces with implementing the decision across all Lebanese territory.
Aoun called on the Quintet countries to pressure the Israeli enemy to halt its attacks on Lebanon, reiterating Lebanon’s “full and final commitment to the cessation of hostilities framework and its readiness to resume negotiations with civilian participation and international sponsorship,” according to Lebanese Presidency account on X platform.

The Lebanese President then emphasized “Lebanon’s reliance on the Quintet’s continued support for stability and institutional restoration, noting that the recent rocket launches toward occupied territory originated from outside the area south of the Litani River, where the Lebanese Army is fully deployed and performing its duties.”
Aoun’s remarks come as Lebanon is undergoing brutal Israeli aggression on several areas across south Lebanon, Dahiyeh and Bekaa.
The aggression which started on Monday, killed at least 52 people and injured 154 others. It also forced hundreds of thousands of people to flee their towns and villages in the targeted areas.
