Hezbollah announced early on Monday its fighters have repelled a new Israeli assault that employed approximately 15 helicopters in eastern Lebanon, just two days after the Israeli enemy’s airborne failed in the same region.

In a statement, Hezbollah’s Military Media said: “After the Israeli landing in the town of Nabi Sheet failed two days ago, the enemy attempted once again to carry out an airborne insertion in the same area, only to find the vigilant eyes and ready weapons of the Mujahideen (resistance fighters) waiting.”

“At 12:10 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, Islamic Resistance fighters observed around 15 Israeli enemy helicopters infiltrating from the Syrian direction. The helicopters flew over the eastern mountain range, passing through the airspace of the villages of Janta, Yahfoufa, Nabi Sheet, Arsal, and Ras Baalbek,” the first statement by the Hezbollah Military Media for Monday stated.

It added that several of the aircraft landed an infantry force in the Serghaya plain, which was seen advancing toward Lebanese territory.

“Islamic Resistance fighters immediately engaged the helicopters and the infiltrating force with appropriate weapons.”

Local media reported Hezbollah fighters downed an Israeli helicopter. However, the resistance group didn’t mention this in its statement.

Earlier on Saturday, Hezbollah resistance foiled an Israeli landing in the town of Nabi Sheet.
