Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has threatened to attack economic centers and banks related to United States and Israeli entities in the region after an attack on an Iranian bank, with the US-Israeli war on the Islamic Republic in its 12th day.
A spokesperson for the Khatam Al-Anbiya Headquarters said on Wednesday that “Following their failed campaign, the terrorist US army and cruel Zionist regime have targeted one of the country’s banks.”
“With this illegitimate and uncommon action, the enemy is forcing our hand to target economic centers and banks linked to the US and Zionist regime in the region,” Iranian state media quoted Ebrahim Zolfaqari as saying.
He warned that “people of the region should not be within a one-kilometer radius of banks”.
“The Americans should await our countermeasure and our painful response,” the spokesperson also added.
An administrative building linked to Bank Sepah, one of the country’s largest public banks and with historical links to the military, was hit overnight in Tehran, according to Mehr news agency.
