Leaflets Over Beirut: Israeli Enemy Resorts to Old Psychological Warfare Tactic

Leaflets dropped by Israeli aircraft in Beirut (March 13, 2026).

Israeli enemy aircraft dropped leaflets over the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Friday calling on civilians to turn against Hezbollah resistance group defending the country, a move widely seen as a return to old psychological warfare tactics that underscore the enemy’s mounting frustration.

A loud blast was heard in the capital, Beirut, which turned out to be caused by Israeli aircraft flying at a very low altitude, dropping leaflets over several areas, specifically Verdun, Hamra, and Ain al-Mreisseh.

The leaflets carried the following message: “For the benefit of everyone, it is better that these pages be filled with words. Therefore, you must dismantle Hezbollah’s weapons. Lebanon is your decision, not anyone else’s.”

“If you want to be part of real change and contribute to the prosperity and defense of your country, we are here to listen,” other leaflets read, which include the logo of the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Unit 504 and a barcode.

For its part, the Lebanese Army Command warned Lebanese citizens against scanning the barcode in the leaflets “because of security risks and legal liabilities involved.”

The leaflet drop, long considered a classic tool of wartime psychological operations, appears aimed at sowing division within society and undermining public support for the resistance.
