The Israeli aggression on Lebanon has entered its 16th consecutive day, marked by intense overnight airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, the town of Aramoun, and multiple villages in the south, alongside a cross-border abduction operation in the border town of Kfarshouba.
In a significant escalation early Tuesday morning, Israeli warplanes launched two airstrikes on areas in the southern suburbs of Beirut, ending a period of relative calm with heavy bombardment. Footage obtained by the UNews Agency documented the moment of the strikes and the thick plumes of smoke rising from the targeted sites near the Haret Hreik neighborhood and the Kfarhat-Hadath area.
Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes targeted an apartment building in the town of Aramoun in Mount Lebanon Governorate, wounding an Ethiopian woman.
Ground Incursion and Abduction in Kfarshouba
In a serious development on the ground, an Israeli force infiltrated several homes east of the town of Kfarshouba at dawn on Tuesday. According to Al-Manar’s correspondent in the south, the force abducted Qassem al-Qadri from his house before withdrawing and taking up positions near the evacuated Lebanese army post known as “Hassan 1.” Al-Qadri was later released.
Civilian Casualties Mount Across the South
Simultaneous airstrikes targeted several villages across southern Lebanon. An airstrike on the Ma’raka junction in the Tyre district resulted in the death of one civilian and injuries to sixteen others, including seven women, according to initial reports. In the town of Shaqra in the Bint Jbeil district, an airstrike injured seven civilians. Meanwhile, four civilians, including two children, were killed in airstrikes on the town of Qantara in the Marjeyoun district.

The broader wave of raids also struck the towns of Majdal Zoun, Burj Qalawiya, Al-Ghandouriya, Toul, Al-Taybeh, and Bnaafoul. Warplanes raided the city of Khiam, accompanied by artillery shelling of its neighborhoods, and also targeted the towns of Barashit and Kfar. The Israeli army has issued new threats and evacuation orders for Lebanese towns and villages south of the Zahrani River.
Lebanese Army Soldiers Wounded in Drone Strike
Al-Manar’s correspondent in the south reported that five Lebanese army soldiers were wounded when an Israeli drone targeted a civilian car and a motorcycle as they were returning from duty in the town of Qaqaiyat al-Jisr. The Lebanese Army announced that two of the wounded soldiers are in critical condition.
Humanitarian Toll: Nearly One Million Displaced
The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, through its Health Emergency Operations Center, issued its daily report revealing a significant rise in the human toll since the aggression began on March 2nd. The total number of martyrs has reached 886, with 2,141 wounded. The report also noted an increase in attacks on the health sector, with the number of healthcare workers killed rising to 38 and the number wounded to 69.
On Monday, firefighters in Beirut’s southern suburbs continued efforts to extinguish a large fire that broke out amidst the rubble of a building destroyed by a previous Israeli airstrike in the Haret Hreik area.
The ongoing aggression has left behind massive destruction of property and residential areas, triggering a wave of forced displacement affecting nearly one million people and creating a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation.
