Hezbollah Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem replied to the fighters’ message. stressing that their fight against US-Israeli aggression is one of the most honorable deeds.

“Our choice of confronting the aggression reflects valor and readiness,” Sheikh Qassem’s letter read, “Battlefields testify that you are the brave heroes of war.”

“You are confronting the barbaric Zionist crimes, the savage American tyranny, and the cowardly or treacherous inaction seeking a life of subservience and humiliation,” Sheikh Qassem told the fighters.

Sheikh Qassem affirmed that the resolution lies in the stop of the aggression, withdrawal from the occupied territories, release of prisoners, the return of the displaced people to their villages and cities, and the start of reconstruction.

What follows is the text of the letter:

Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem to the Islamic Resistance fighters:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,

To the noble and honorable fighters of the Islamic Resistance,

Peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you,

I received your message from the battlefield, and I respond to it with love and sincerity. Your confrontation with the Israeli-American aggression is one of the most honorable acts, and it is highly regarded by God and by those who believe in the right of humans to live freely and with dignity.

You have risen above the humiliation of begging for the fleeting pleasures of this world from tyrants and oppressors, holding onto the blessing of faith and righteousness that God has bestowed upon you, so that the world may submit to you.

The arenas of your jihad testify that you are heroes of war and brave warriors. Your hearts are attached to God, and you draw from Him insight and courage. Your role model is the leader of the prophets and messengers, Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said to his uncle, “O uncle, by God, if they put the sun in my right hand and the moon in my left, I will not abandon this matter until God makes it victorious or I perish in the attempt.”

You face the brutal Zionist aggression, the savage American tyranny, and the West’s eagerness for a share of the pure blood, as well as the fearful or treacherous surrender that seeks a life of subservience and humiliation… You face the devils of the earth with the light of faith and jihad, standing firm and unshaken by earthquakes. Your light shines before you, promising a glorious future and a clear victory.

Hezbollah and its Islamic Resistance are in a legitimate defensive position, in the battle of “al-Asf al-Ma’kul” (the Devouring Storm), and in defense of the land, rejection of surrender, protection of existence, and independence of the homeland. This is the flag of truth that rises with you, and with the jihad of the people of resistance and those who believe in it, with their patience and great sacrifices.

History will record, as the present does, that you are the torchbearers of sacrifice and noble human generosity, and that you resisted in the most difficult circumstances, with the highest degree of confidence and assurance of victory, preventing the enemies from achieving their goals.

With you, O lights of resistance, our flag will not fall. With you, O pioneers of freedom, the tyrants will fall. With you, O guardians of the homeland, we ensure the future of our generations. With you, O torch of giving, the sun of liberation and freedom will rise.

Our path is the path of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), following the footsteps of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in facing with dignity and refusing humiliating submission, content with one of the two best things: victory or martyrdom, and one of the two paths: honor or humiliation.

All the sacrifices we have made, headed by Sayyed Hassan, Sayyed Abbas, Sheikh Ragheb, Sayyed Hashem, and the martyred leaders and fighters (may God be pleased with them), the wounded and prisoners, and the great contributions of our people… all of these are a purification of our path of jihad, resistance, and allegiance, and a great asset for continuity, carrying the trust, and achieving the goals.

Our enemies are confused, for their criminal means of pressure threaten with death, and death is in the hands of God. They have nothing to bring you down, and you have what will bring them down and defeat them. You are the rightful owners of the land, and you draw your strength from God, and you storm the difficulties with confidence in God’s promise: “Fight them, God will punish them at your hands, and He will humiliate them, and He will give you victory over them, and He will heal the hearts of a believing people” (Quran 9:14).

We continue together, with our allegiance to our leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Mujtaba Khamenei (may God prolong his shadow), following the path of the martyred leader, Imam Khamenei (may God sanctify his soul), and the path of the reviver of religion, Imam Khomeini (may God sanctify his soul), in the path of the supreme martyr, Sayyed Hasan (may God be pleased with him).

Our choice in facing the aggression, after fifteen months of giving space to diplomacy with patience and endurance, has revealed things, including:

  1. the courage of the resistance and the people of resistance in their patience and adherence to agreements and covenants;
  2. the courage of the resistance in repelling the aggression at the appropriate time;
  3. the level of meticulous preparation for the battle, with the ambiguity of capability and its limits, and the flexibility of movement for the resistance fighters from anywhere in Lebanon to the front lines to engage with the enemy;
  4. the surprise of the enemy by thwarting its surprise and our knowledge of its aggressive plan and preparation to face it;
  5. that the available solution is to stop the aggression, withdraw from occupied territories, release prisoners, and return the people of villages and cities to their homes with the start of reconstruction, and we can do it;
  6. and that the resistance will continue in the field of honor, no matter how great the sacrifices, and the field is what decides the battle.

My beloved resistance fighters, I thank God endlessly that I am with you, illuminated by your martyrdom spirit that does not fear death, so that we may taste together the sweetness of liberation and glory.
