Al-Manar Mourns Director of Political Programs Martyred in Israeli Bombing of Beirut

Al-Manar veteran anchor and Director of Political Programs Department Hajj Mohammad Sherri who was martyred in an Israeli strike on his home in Beirut (March 18, 2026).

Al-Manar mourned on Wednesday Hajj Mohammad Sherri, the head of the Lebanese channel’s Political Programs Department, who was martyred in an Israeli bombing of the capital, Beirut.

“Our martyred colleague concluded a distinguished career spanning decade, during which he embodied the image of a resistance journalist, a committed patriot, and a man who believed in the power of free speech in defending the truth, regardless of the sacrifices required,” Al-Manar TV said in a statement.

“Al-Manar’s audience knew Hajj Mohammad Sherri as an intellectually engaged and balanced anchor. His colleagues knew him as the Director of Political Programs Department for ten years, a member of the board of directors, and a kind, calm, and dedicated colleague, committed to his work and mission,” the statement read.

The Lebanese TV channel vowed to continue its mission of responsible journalism, honoring Hajj Mohammad Sherri’s legacy and that of all those martyred by remaining committed to truthful reporting despite the threats and challenges.

Hajj Mohammad Sherri was martyred along with his wife and injured a number of his family in an Israeli strike on their home in Beirut’s Zqaq Al-Blat area.
