Hezbollah issued on Wednesday a statement that offers felicitations and condolences on the martyrdom of the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Dr. Ali Larijani.
The Resistance Party denounced the US-Israeli crime of assassinating Martyr Larijani, stressing that the Islamic Republic is defending all the Muslims in this war.
What follows is the full text of the statement:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
“Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with God, some of whom have fulfilled their vow, and some of whom are still waiting, and they have not changed in the least” (Quran 33:23).
We extend our deepest condolences and congratulations to the Imam of the Age (may God hasten his noble advent), to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Mujtaba Khamenei (may God protect him), to the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and to its great, steadfast, and struggling people, on the martyrdom of Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, who was martyred while fasting and praying, after a long journey of jihad and diligent work in serving Islam and the Islamic Republic, and defending its sovereignty and principles. This came as a result of a treacherous American-Israeli terrorist attack that targeted him, his son, and a number of his companions.
The Islamic Republic of Iran, as it faces today the barbaric American-Zionist aggression and the world’s conspiracy against it and offers great sacrifices and convoys of martyrs and great leaders for the sake of this sacred defense, is not only defending itself and its people, which is a legitimate right guaranteed by all international charters, but it is also defending the dignity, honor and independence of the Islamic nation, and the peoples of the region and all the free and honorable people in this world, and it is confronting the deep imbalances that afflict the international system and protecting what remains of justice and human values in a world in which the United States of America and the Zionist entity have trampled on all laws, norms and charters, and with its steadfastness, resilience and historical resistance it is bringing down all the settlement, colonial and fragmentation plans and projects that the American-Zionist enemy is working to implement in order to subjugate the peoples of the region, plunder their wealth and impose its absolute hegemony over their present and future.
Hezbollah condemns this cowardly assassination and the continuation of American-Israeli aggression, and affirms that the assassination of leaders will not break the will of the Islamic Republic, nor will it undermine the determination of its leadership, people, and fighters. The Islamic Republic will remain a cornerstone of the project against American arrogance and Zionist expansion, no matter how great the sacrifices.
