Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone calls with EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas and his Omani counterpart Badr Albusaidi to discuss the latest developments in the US-Israeli war, according to the IRNA news agency.

Araghchi and Kallas exchanged their views on the dire humanitarian, political and security consequences of the war initiated by the United States and Israeli regime against Iran, IRNA reported.

In addition, Iran’s top diplomat and EU foreign policy chief pointed to the growing trend of tensions in the region, highlighting the aftereffects of the US-Israeli aggression that can affect the regional stability and international security.

In another phone call with his Omani counterpart, Araghchi explained Iran’s views on the latest developments in the region, while Albusaidi offered his greetings for Eid Al-Fitr and the Persian New Year, Newroz.

Iran’s top diplomat briefed his Omani counterpart on the latest developments in the region regarding the US-Israeli aggression on the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to IRNA.

Albusaidi seized this opportunity to congratulate the auspicious Eid Al-Fitr and Nowruz to his Iranian counterpart and the Iranian nation, the agency noted.

“The two foreign ministers emphasized the need for continuing consultation between the two countries,” IRNA added.

Oman has been instrumental in mediating talks between the US and Iran prior to US-Israeli war on the Islamic Republic and had reported significant progress before the attacks began.

The US and ‘Israel’ waged an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran for the second time on February 28 which led to the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, high-ranking military commanders and civilians.

Earlier this week, the Guardian reported that Britain’s national security adviser Jonathan Powell who attended the final US-Iran talks had assessed that a deal was within reach before the war.
