Under the slogan “We Liberate Jerusalem,” leading religious and political figures gathered in Baghdad for a joint ceremony marking the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, and commemorating International Quds Day.
The event, organized by the World Union of Resistance Scholars and the Global Gathering for Supporting the Choice of Resistance, was held at the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque, drawing ministers, lawmakers, judges, and prominent scholars.
In his keynote address, Sheikh Dr. Youssef al-Nasseri, Assistant Secretary-General of the Global Gathering, underscored the continued commitment to the path of resistance, framing the occasion as both a moment of mourning and renewed resolve.
A series of speeches followed, delivered by religious scholars, academics, and officials, each emphasizing steadfastness and regional solidarity. The ceremony concluded with a traditional mourning majlis led by Sheikh Salah al-Mandlawi.
The gathering blended tribute with political messaging, reinforcing calls to support Palestine and uphold the resistance agenda across the region.
