Iran’s Defense Council warned on Monday that an attack on the country’s southern coast and islands will lead to Gulf routes being cut with the laying of sea mines.
“Any attempt by the enemy to attack Iranian coasts or islands will naturally, and in accordance with common military practice, cause all access routes and communication lines in the Persian Gulf and the coasts to be mined with various types of naval mines, including floating mines that can be released from the coasts,” the statement read.
“In that case, the entire Persian Gulf will practically find a situation similar to the strait of Hormuz for a long time. This time, along with the strait of Hormuz, the entire Persian Gulf will be practically blocked, and the responsibility for it will lie with the threatening party.”
Iran has permitted some friendly countries, including China, India, Pakistan, to secure safe passage of their ships through the strait, but has effectively closed it down for others, especially countries taking part in the war against the Islamic Republic.
74th and 75th Waves of Op. True Promise 4
Meanwhile on Monday, Spokesperson for the Khatam Al-Anbiya Central Headquarters declared expanded drone and missile campaign across multiple fronts.
In a statement, spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari said that since early Sunday, Iranian Army forces have launched a series of coordinated drone and missile strikes targeting strategic sites across the region, including Israel’s Ben Gurion Air Base and US-linked facilities such as Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.
He said the 74th and 75th waves of Operation True Promise 4 were executed under pre-planned war scenarios, employing advanced systems, new tactics, and a mix of long-range missiles and attack drones.
The strikes targeted US bases, naval assets, and positions linked to armed groups, as well as military and security sites in central Israeli cities, he said.
According to the spokesman, key locations were hit included sites in the Zionist entity Tel Aviv, Petah Tikva, Holon, and Ramat Gan, alongside Prince Sultan Air Base.
Zolfaghari warned that US and Israeli forces remain under constant surveillance, asserting that concealment within civilian areas would not provide protection. The spokesman further said that the strikes have caused strategic disarray within US Central Command, weakened joint defense systems in the region, and disrupted American military support lines.
He concluded by stating that these developments have shifted the balance of power, adding that Iran had anticipated the response of its adversaries and had previously cautioned against escalating the conflict.
Earlier on Sunday, Zolfaghari addressed US President Donald Trump, saying in English: “You are fired.”
