Lebanese President Joseph Aoun met with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri at Baabda Palace on Monday, where they reviewed the overall situation in light of ongoing Israeli aggression.
The two top officials discussed the Israeli escalation, particularly the attacks targeting of bridges linking southern Lebanon to other regions and the potential consequences of such actions, National News Agency (NNA) reported, citing a post by the Lebanese Presidency.

They also addressed the difficult social and humanitarian conditions resulting from the displacement of around one million residents from areas affected by the Israeli attacks, including southern Lebanon, Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh) and Bekaa.
President Aoun and Speaker Berri hailed public solidarity shown toward the displaced people, “as well as the efforts made by official institutions and humanitarian and social organizations to provide support,” the NNA added.

“They stressed the importance of national unity and solidarity among Lebanese citizens during these sensitive circumstances, highlighting the need to preserve civil peace and avoid being influenced by rumors spread by parties that do not seek Lebanon’s well-being. They also emphasized the broad national consensus rejecting a return to past hardships, particularly any return to civil war.”
Following the meeting, Speaker Berri was asked about its nature and said that the situation had been evaluated from various aspects.
