Al-Manar TV correspondent Ali Shoaib was martyred in an Israeli airstrike that directly targeted a journalists’ vehicle in the Jezzine district of southern Lebanon. Also martyred in the attack were Al-Mayadeen TV correspondent Fatima Ftouni and cameraman Mohammad Ftouni.
Shoaib had served as a correspondent for Al-Manar in southern Lebanon for years, covering landmark events from the 2000 liberation, through the July 2006 war and the 2004 prisoner exchange, up to the ongoing conflict. His field reporting also took him to Syria and Iraq, where he documented events on the frontlines.
