The Israeli enemy has confirmed the death of a soldier and the serious injury of an officer in separate incidents in southern Lebanon, as clashes along the border continue.
In a statement cleared for publication, the occupation army identified the slain soldier as Sergeant Liran Ben Zion from Holon, a soldier in the 9th Battalion, 401st Brigade. According to a preliminary investigation reported by Israeli media, an anti-tank missile was fired overnight at a tank belonging to the battalion’s combat crew operating in southern Lebanon. The attack killed Sergeant Ben Zion and left an officer seriously wounded. Two additional anti-tank missiles were later fired at the area as forces attempted to evacuate the casualties.
