Israeli airstrikes intensified across southern Lebanon on Thursday, striking residential buildings in multiple towns and leaving dozens dead and wounded, according to preliminary reports, as rescue teams struggled to respond amid widespread destruction.

At least seven civilians were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on the southern town of Al-Abbasiyeh, with additional casualties reported, as health authorities said the toll is likely to rise.

In a new massacre attack, more than 10 people, including women and children, were martyred when an Israeli warplane struck a residential building was struck in Zrarieh, also in southern Lebanon.

Air raids also targeted the eastern entrance of Doweir, where a two-story home was completely destroyed. Civil Defense teams worked to extinguish fires that broke out beneath the rubble as rescue operations continued, Al-Manar correspondent reported.

In the southern Litani River area, several families issued urgent appeals for international evacuation after becoming effectively besieged after the Israeli enemy destroyed the Qasmiyeh Bridge earlier on Wednesday. Civil defense and rescue teams are attempting to reopen the route to allow access and aid.

Separately, airstrikes also targeted the town of Kawnine, as the broader assault on southern Lebanon continued.

Meanwhile, rescue teams continue their urgent operations in the areas hit by Israeli strikes on Wednesday, racing against time to recover survivors and tend to the wounded.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Israeli enemy launched a wide-scale strikes that targeted residential buildings, religious complex, health facilities, cafes and even a funeral across southern Lebanon, Beirut, Dahiyeh, Mount Lebanon, Bekaa and Sidon, killing at least 254 people and injuring more than 700 others.
