The head of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance Lebanese parliamentary bloc MP Mohammad Raad said Israeli airstrikes across Lebanon reflect a defeated enemy seeking to compensate for battlefield failure, amid continued attacks on civilian areas.
In an article published in Al-Akhbar Lebanese newspaper, Raad said the strikes targeting residential buildings and shops in Beirut, Dahiyeh, Mount Lebanon, as well as the South and the Bekaa, do not constitute a strategic achievement or indicate that ‘Israel’ has gained leverage to impose a fait accompli on Lebanon.
He framed the casualties of the attacks as part of the national struggle, saying “the martyrs, wounded, and affected civilians” stand alongside resistance fighters confronting the enemy seeking to subjugate the country and undermine its sovereignty.
Meanwhile, the senior Hezbollah lawmaker slammed local voices which lament losses.
“Every drop of blood shed in confronting this enemy is a testament against every coward or defeatist who seeks the enemy’s favor and mocks those who sacrifice their lives to repel its aggression.”
He warned against internal criticism to resistance actions during the conflict, arguing that lamenting losses in a way that fuels division amounts to incitement and indirectly serves Israeli objectives.
MP Raad also cautioned against spreading rumors or adopting measures that could deepen political fractures, saying such actions “have no connection to logic or national responsibility.”
He stressed that no foreign country, regardless of position, should assume greater concern for Lebanon than those willing to sacrifice their lives in the confrontation, referring to countries guaranteeing the 2024 ceasefire and the resistance fighters who are defending the homeland.

In this context MP Raad asserted that sovereignty requires resilience, unity, and refusal to yield to external pressure.
Addressing the regional dimension, the lawmaker said Israeli strikes were also intended to send a message to the United States regarding ceasefire dynamics with Iran. He added that any successful path to ending the broader regional war would require an Israeli ceasefire in Lebanon.
MP Raad concluded by warning against political missteps that could further erode national unity, urging Lebanese actors not to “rush into the abyss” amid escalating tensions.
