Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc issued on Friday a statement that underlined how the authorities in Lebanon endangered the nation and its integrity by holding direct negotiations with the the Israeli enemy.
The Lebanese authority has involved the nation in a stage that endangers its existence as a sovereign, free, independent nation, integrity, safety, internal cohesion and national unity, the statement added, blaming the submissive yielding to the American dictates, away from the national Pact and strengths headed by the heroic resistance and its steadfast, sacrificing people.
The Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc deliberated on the situation amid the escalation of the Zionist aggression and the intensification of its criminality against Lebanon, and concluded the following:
1- The authority has plunged the country into great evil and a major predicament by complying with the Washington administration and submitting to Israeli dictates, and it has reneged on all the commitments it had declared as preconditions for entering any negotiating process — namely, the condition of a ceasefire and the enemy’s withdrawal from the occupied lands. It chose to resort to direct negotiation without either of these two conditions being met. The enemy responded with further aggressions and massacres, especially on the Black Wednesday that led to the martyrdom of hundreds and more than a thousand wounded across various Lebanese areas, while imposing its conditions in full on the Lebanese side without the slightest consideration for any Lebanese interest or national sovereignty. We may ask those who drifted far and rushed toward the option of negotiation whether they were able to render a service or bring any benefit to Lebanon by adopting this path that almost squanders its fate. We also warn of the dangers of gradual sliding into Israeli traps and the blackmail practiced by the enemy against those who show a desire to negotiate with it, by luring them into phone calls, handshakes, or exchanges of greetings and condolences.
2- While we affirm our cautious commitment to a ceasefire, provided that it is comprehensive for all Lebanese areas, including the border region, and includes a cessation of hostile acts and a restriction on the enemy’s freedom of movement, and that it serves as a prelude to Israeli withdrawal… The ceasefire was reached primarily against the backdrop of Iranian pressures and communications. Restricting the ceasefire to a ten-day period aims to blackmail the Lebanese government and accelerate the path of direct negotiations, which will have bad and dangerous consequences.
3- The Bloc extends to all our Lebanese people, especially the families of the martyrs and the wounded, its highest expressions of condolence for the martyrdom of the martyrs, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery. It considers that their sacrifices, steadfastness, and resilience are what have preserved the country’s pride and dignity, and will preserve its existence, independence, and sovereignty, and will achieve its full liberation, God willing. While it adheres to the option of resistance to confront the Zionist brutality and excess in targeting areas and towns in all Lebanese governorates, it places international community institutions and human rights and humanitarian organizations worldwide before their responsibilities regarding the crimes, massacres, random destruction, and extermination methods adopted by the Zionist enemy in Lebanon, in full view and hearing of states that claim to be concerned with security, peace, and human rights.
4- The authority has placed itself and the country before grave entitlements by adopting a path of negligence, concession, and surrender to the enemy’s will. Its diplomacy and alleged lamentations could not preserve a single soul or prevent an assault on the land and sovereignty.
Rather, it has placed Lebanon on a dangerous path marked by its inability to meet the Zionist enemy’s demands and its impossible conditions, which affect national sovereignty, the nation’s security and internal peace, and threaten to plunder its natural resources.
5- Before the announcement of the ceasefire, the resistance recorded its continued heroic confrontation of Israeli enemy attempts to occupy our southern villages. The resistance fighters wrote legendary epics — despite the scale of raids, shelling, and destruction — and prevented the enemy from establishing its footholds, while it vainly sought an image of victory to compensate for the scale of its failures. The Bloc paused at the battle of Bint Jbeil, from which the enemy sought to achieve an illusory accomplishment, but the resistance fighters thwarted its endeavors through their steadfastness and great sacrifices. As usual, this enemy resorted to destruction and the adoption of a scorched-earth policy. The steadfastness of Bint Jbeil is a living model of the will of the resistance and the sacrifices of its people — a will that does not break and a resolve that does not yield.
