Israeli Reservist Killed, 9 Others Wounded by Explosive in Southern Lebanon

Israeli occupation army announced on Sunday a reservist was killed and nine others were wounded, including one seriously, after being hit by an explosive device in southern Lebanon a day earlier.

The slain soldier was named as a sergeant first class reservist of the 769th “Hiram” Regional Brigade’s 7106th Battalion.

During operations of the battalion in a territory in southern Lebanon, “an engineering vehicle drove over a bomb that had been planted by Hezbollah,” the occupation military said in an initial probe.

Soldiers stationed in the area to secure the heavy machinery were hit by the blast, leading to the reservist death and the injury of nine others, including one seriously, four moderately, and four lightly, the occupation army added, as quoted by The Times of Israel.

The wounded soldiers were airlifted to a hospital and their families were notified, the occupation army added.

The incident took place amid the ongoing ceasefire in Lebanon.
