Spain’s foreign minister, José Manuel Albares, said Tuesday that restoring normal operations in the Strait of Hormuz requires negotiation rather than military action, as tensions continue to simmer in the strategic waterway.
Albares reaffirmed Madrid’s position against joining any military campaign against Iran, stressing that Spain remains committed to a diplomatic track. He voiced support for renewed negotiations facilitated by Pakistan, noting he conveyed this stance directly to Iran’s foreign minister two days ago.
