Iran Has Not Officially Responded to Latest US Proposal Yet: Source

An informed source said Iran has not yet provided an official response to the latest US proposal despite American media claims about a final agreement to end the war being at hand, describing recent US reports as an attempt to justify Trump’s retreat from his latest hostile move.
The informed source told Tasnim on Wednesday that despite claims by American media outlets regarding Iran and the US nearing a final one-page agreement to end the war, Tehran has not yet officially responded to Washington’s latest proposal, which contains “some unacceptable clauses.”

“Today’s propaganda by American media is mainly aimed at justifying Trump’s retreat from his recent hostile action. Trump’s move was wrong from the beginning and should never have been carried out,” the source said.

“It is unclear how many times the United States must knock its head against the wall before understanding the realities on the ground. In any case, experience should have shown the Americans that the language of force and threats is not only ineffective against Iran, but also worsens the situation for the Americans and other enemies,” the source added.

The source explained that after Iran presented “reasonable and logical” proposals in 14 clauses through a Pakistani mediator, the Americans sent their own proposal before launching a new phase of adventurism and hostility.

“Iran was in the process of reviewing its response, but the Americans once again resorted to an unwise approach, which caused a pause in the continuation of the reviews,” the source said.

The informed source finally noted that after Trump’s retreat, Iran resumed its examinations of the matter and would inform the mediator whenever it reaches a conclusion.
