Defend Until Death: Tehran Issues Fresh Warning as Commander Meets with Ayatollah Sayyed Khamenei

In a high-level meeting with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Iran’s top military commander has declared the country’s armed forces ready to confront any “strategic mistake or aggression” by the “American-Zionist enemy,” as new directives were issued to intensify defensive and offensive operations.

According to a Sunday statement by the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, met with Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei. During the meeting, Abdollahi presented a comprehensive report on the readiness of all branches of Iran’s armed forces, including the Army, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), law enforcement and border forces, the Ministry of Defense, and the Basij.

General Abdollahi confirmed that all fighters of Islam now possess high levels of readiness in terms of morale, defensive and offensive preparedness, strategic planning, and the equipment and weaponry necessary to confront hostile actions by the American-Zionist enemies.

He issued a direct warning: if the enemies commit any strategic mistake, aggression, or invasion, Iranian forces will respond “swiftly, intensely, and powerfully.

The commander also assured the Leader that the armed forces would, “with full obedience” to his orders, defend “the ideals of the Islamic Revolution, our beloved land Iran, sovereignty, national interests, and the brave Iranian nation until the last breath and to the death.”

In response, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the country’s armed forces and issued new directives calling for continued action and a decisive stance against the enemy, following what the statement described as the 40-day US-Israeli war against the country.

According to the Iranian military account, the unprovoked US-Israeli war began on February 28, triggering days of “barbaric bombing” of Iranian military and civilian infrastructure. The attack, intended to bring down the Islamic Republic in the wake of violent riots involving foreign-linked armed elements who brutally targeted police, security forces, and public service personnel, instead failed to achieve its objectives.

What was expected to last only a few days until the fall of the Islamic Republic instead stretched into 41 days. During that period, Iran responded with fierce intensity, launching drone and missile strikes at US and Israeli targets, ultimately forcing both regimes to announce a unilateral ceasefire that remains in effect to this day.
