Lebanese Authorities Falling Short Even Within Negotiation Concessions: Hezbollah MP

MP Hasan Ezzeddine, Member of Hezbollah's Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc in a press conference on Monday, May 11, 2026.

Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Hassan Ezzeddine blamed Lebanese authorities for failure to provide foreign missions with documents on Israeli crimes committed in Lebanon.

In a press conference on Monday, the Hezbollah lawmaker said there has been “blatant official deficiency and negligence, as well as dereliction of duty” in providing foreign missions with documents and figures on Israeli attacks.

The Lebanese authorities have not fulfilled their responsibilities “even within the framework of concessions in direct negotiations,” MP Ezzeddine stated.

The authorities had not provided the Lebanese ambassador to the United States with documents, statistics, or evidence that could strengthen her position, he added, referring to Lebanon’s Ambassador to the US Nada Hamadeh Moawad, who takes part on behalf of the authorities in Beirut in the meetings between the US, Lebanon and the Israeli enemy in Washington.

MP Ezzeddine said ambassadors had raised concerns over how direct negotiations could continue while Lebanon has not yet secured a ceasefire.

He further stated that pursuing direct political negotiations “without leverage against a criminal and unrestrained enemy represents a serious political failure by the authorities who have abandoned their national responsibilities.

He also noted that a memorandum presented by Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance bloc outlines recent developments from both political and legal perspectives and presents a roadmap toward a solution.

Lebanon has been subjected to brutal Israeli aggression since March 2. A ceasefire had been announced on April 17. However, the Israeli enemy has been violating the ceasefire, carrying out dozens of attacks in southern Lebanon.
