Iran Sets Ending Israeli War on Lebanon as Precondition for Resuming Talks with US: FNA

An informed source told Fars News Agency that Iran will not enter a second round of talks with the United States without five confidence-building measures being met.

The source emphasized that the conditions announced by Iran represent the minimum guarantees necessary to build trust before any talks with the United States can begin.

The five Iranian conditions for the American side include: “Ending the war on all fronts, especially in Lebanon,” “Lifting the sanctions imposed on Iran,” “Releasing frozen Iranian assets,” “Compensation for war damages,” and “Recognizing Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.”

Iran also informed the Pakistani mediator that the continued naval blockade in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman after the ceasefire reinforces its position that negotiations with the United States are unreliable.

According to this informed source, these conditions are defined solely within the framework of building a minimum level of trust to resume the negotiation process. Tehran believes that without the practical implementation of these conditions, it will be impossible to enter into new negotiations.

According to information obtained by Fars News Agency, Iran set these five conditions in response to the 14-point American proposal. According to informed sources, these proposals were entirely unilateral and designed to serve Washington’s interests. These sources indicated that the Americans were attempting to achieve through negotiations what they had failed to achieve through war.
