Israeli media outlets have acknowledged a significant escalation in Hezbollah operations along the northern front since Thursday, amid growing concerns over failure to contain the ongoing battle’s military and security implications.
According to Hebrew media reports, four Israelis were injured in a drone strike on the Rosh Hanikra area, coinciding with the launch of dozens of drones and hundreds of rockets toward Israeli positions inside Lebanese territory and along the northern Palestinian border.
A report by Voice of News Israeli platform added that the settlement of Kiryat Shmona and its surrounding areas came under rocket fire overnight, while a fresh rocket was launched on Friday morning toward the Lower Galilee. Israeli media also confirmed that an Israeli soldier was killed by gunfire inside Lebanese territory.

Amid the escalating confrontation, Israeli outlets highlighted mounting pressure on the Israeli so-called home front, reporting continued fear and displacement from northern settlements. They noted that around 9,000 residents have already left Kiryat Shmona over the past two years, with expectations of further departures by the end of the current school year, alongside a rising number of relocation requests from northern settlements.

“We will not accept a reality in which the skies of the north remain exposed and booby-trapped gliders [FPVs] become a deadly routine.”
The Israeli media further raised questions over the Israeli leadership’s awareness of the situation facing northern settlers, amid persistent cross-border attacks and the inability of military measures to restore stability along the frontier.
