The Lebanese Army Command clarified that what is being circulated by some media outlets and via social media regarding the Lebanese military delegation scheduled to participate in the negotiations at the Pentagon on May 29, 2026, specifically concerning the sectarian distribution of officers within the delegation, has no basis in the principles of the military institution.
The Command also affirmed that the participating delegation, regardless of its composition, remains committed to national principles, and that the officers assigned to the mission represent the nation and adhere to the army’s doctrine, while all members of the military institution carry out the Command’s decisions out of their commitment to national duty.
