New Israeli Crime in Southern Lebanon: Six Paramedics Martyred in Fresh Attacks

Four paramedics form the Islamic Health Society were martyred by an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon (May 22, 2026).

The Israeli enemy goes ahead with its crimes against Lebanon on Friday, with two air strikes targeting and killing six paramedics in the country’s southern district of Tyre.

Al-Manar correspondent in southern Lebanon reported that two of Al-Risala Association’s paramedics were martyred in an Israeli drone strike in the town of Deir Qanoun Al-Nahr while carrying out a rescue mission in the village.

Earlier before dawn on Friday, four other paramedics additional paramedics from the Islamic Health Society were martyred after their position in the town of Hanaway was targeted. The strike hit the site where the responders were stationed.

Lebanese Health Ministry Denounces Attacks

Lebanese Health Ministry has condemned the Israeli targeting of first responders. In a statement, the ministry said: “The resumed its blatant defiance of international resolutions, its repudiation of commitments, and its continued disregard for international legitimacy.”

It cited a resolution from the World Health Organization’s General Assembly calling for the protection and neutrality of health personnel two days earlier.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health provided further details on the Israeli strikes, stating that an air raid on Deir Qanoun Al-Nahr in the Tyre district killed six people, including two paramedics from the Al-Risala Association—one of whom was also a journalist—as well as a Syrian girl. Six others were wounded, among them three Al-Risala paramedics and a Syrian woman.

In a separate earlier strike, an Israeli air raid on the town of Hanaway, also in the Tyre district, killed four paramedics from the Islamic Health Society and injured two others, including a paramedic and a woman.
