Al-Manar correspondent in south Lebanon reported on Wednesday heroic clashes between Hezbollah resistance fighters and Israeli forces who have been for hours attempting to advance towards the town of Zawtar Al-Sharqiya.
“Islamic Resistance fighters repel large-scale Israeli advance attempt towards the area between Zawtar Al-Sharqiyah and Al-Hamra axis in Nabatieh district,” our correspondent said.
He reported confirmed Israeli casualties as the Islamic Resistance fighters “are engaged in direct clashes with advancing enemy forces towards Zawtar Al-Sharqiya.”
Meanwhile, our reporter affirmed that attempts to advance have failed so far due to clashes and direct targeting.
He elabortaed that the Israeli enemy forces are moving along three axes on the outskirts of the town of Zawtar Al-Sharqiyah, near al-Hamra, as follows (regarding the obtained map):
Red point: The assembly area in al-Khazzan neighborhood
Yellow point: Zattam farm
Blue point: The area surrounding the cultural center
Hezbollah Military Media Statements
Statements released by Hezbollah’s Military Media announced heavy confrontations at Zawtar, with clashes at point-blank range taking place between resistance fighters and Israeli forces attempting to advance.
The first statement on Wednesday read that since 04:00 on Wednesday, Islamic Resistance fighters have been confronting enemy forces in riverbed of Zawtar Al-Sharqiya, employing rocket salvos, artillery fire, and heavy missiles.
The second statement announced that at 09:00 on Wednesday resistance fighters clashed with Israeli enemy forces at point-blank range at Zawtar Al-Sharqiya’s Cultural Complex. It added that light and medium weapons were used, noting that the clashes forced enemy retreat before it launches intensive fire belts across area.
Later at 11:10, the Islamic Resistance fighters targeted an Israeli Merkava tank at Zattam orchard in Zawtar Al-Sharqiya with Ababil attack drone, the third statement read.
Gatherings of Israeli vehicles and soldiers were then targeted by Islamic Resistance fighters at 12:10 at Zawtar’s Al-Khazzan hill and at the town’s Cultural Complex with barrages of rockets, statements 4 and 5 announced.
