Abu Ubaida, the military spokesman for the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, affirmed that the Palestinian resistance continues its struggle despite assassinations and losses, emphasizing that the martyrdom of its leaders will not weaken it or halt its project. He also called on mediators to assume their responsibilities regarding the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip.
In a recorded statement, Abu Ubaida said that the resistance is facing “an enemy that possesses nothing but the opposite of morality, knows nothing of the norms of war, and does not respect agreements.” He asserted that the occupation miscalculated the situation when it mistook flexibility for weakness and restraint for retreat.
He added that the resistance will neither forget nor forgive what has been committed against the Palestinian people, stressing that “the score will remain unsettled until the occupation pays it in full,” and that the blood of the martyred leaders serves as an impetus for continuing the path of resistance.
Abu Ubaida commemorated several Qassam Brigades commanders who were recently martyred, foremost among them Izz al-Din al-Haddad, “Abu Suhaib,” the Qassam Brigades’ Chief of Staff. He highlighted al-Haddad’s role in various stages of the resistance, his command of numerous military sites and formations, and his contributions to planning and preparing the October 7th operation and leading defensive operations in the northern Gaza Strip.
He also commemorated Commander Muhammad Awda, “Abu Omar,” praising his role in military manufacturing, his leadership of several military and intelligence formations within the Qassam Brigades, and his participation in planning and overseeing the October 7th operation and defensive operations in the northern Gaza Strip.
Abu Ubaida emphasized that the absence of commanders has never weakened the resistance, stressing that its struggle continues and that it still possesses leaders and cadres who were raised on the path of the martyred commanders and gained their experience on the battlefields.
On the political front, he asserted that the daily assassinations and killings of Palestinians and resistance fighters, the targeting of children, women, and the elderly in the Gaza Strip, and the violations of the ceasefire agreement and the reneging on commitments, present mediators and guarantors with a “moment of truth.”
He questioned the role of the mediators and the guarantees offered, urging mediating parties, excluding the United States, not to equate the victim with the perpetrator, and to work towards compelling the occupation to fulfill its obligations instead of demanding further concessions from the Palestinian people.
He also appealed to the Palestinian people wherever they reside, and to resistance fighters throughout the Arab and Islamic worlds, calling for their active participation in supporting the Palestinian cause and urging them not to remain neutral.
He reiterated his call to the Arab and Islamic nations and their various factions to overcome their differences and unify their efforts to confront the occupation, praising the positions of those who support Palestine and the resistance forces in various arenas, and extending special greetings to Lebanon and all who have supported the Palestinian cause.
Concluding his speech, Abu Ubaida addressed the people of the Gaza Strip, including women, elders, youth, children, and the families of martyrs, affirming that the resistance will remain faithful to their sacrifices and will continue on the path taken by its leaders. He considered that these sacrifices will yield victory and empowerment, and stressed that the resistance’s option will remain “Jihad, victory or martyrdom.”
