In a fresh warning aired on Iranian television, Mohsen Rezaei, military advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader, said Tehran would unleash overwhelming force on northern ‘Israel’ if the Israeli military advances toward Beirut’s southern suburbs.
“It would have been enough for the enemy to take any step toward the southern suburbs for us to turn the northern occupied territories into hell,” Rezaei declared, claiming the response would be “many times greater than what we witnessed during the 40‑day war.” He added that “all missiles were ready for this scenario.”
Rezaei reiterated Iran’s demand that Israel withdraw from Lebanon “quickly,” stating, “Our hand is still on the trigger.”
Warning to Gulf states Turning to regional politics, Rezaei noted that Qatar’s emir and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman “have begun to align their positions and adapt to the changes and the new reality very well.”
However, he criticized the UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait, saying they “still believe that American influence will remain as strong as ever.”
“These three countries exploited our friendship,” Rezaei said. “They aided Saddam’s regime, and we pardoned them and strengthened our relations with them, but we will not abandon them if they continue to cooperate and coordinate with Israel.”
He concluded by warning that Iran “may deliver another blow to put Israel and the United States in their place unless they act rationally and meet the demands of the Iranian people.” Rezaei also described the Strait of Hormuz as a deterrent force equivalent in capability to “ten nuclear bombs,” according to Western experts.
