Hezbollah Calls on Authorities to Rectify Relationships with Iran after Proving to Be Supporting, Not Exploiting Lebanon

Hezbollah issued on Tuesday a statement that hailed the Iranian missile response to the Zionist aggression on Beirut’s Dahieh, stressing that it sends a message of moral, political, and field commitment from the Islamic Republic toward Lebanon.

Hezbollah also appreciated the Yemeni military support in defense of Lebanon, which “makes the U.S. administration understand that its support for the aggression against our country will undermine all agreements that it seeks.”

The statement called on the Lebanese authorities to rectify the relationships with Iran as its military action proved that it supports, not exploits Lebanon.

What follows is the text of the statement:

The Iranian missile response to the Zionist entity, in defense of our Lebanese people, is a message of moral, political, and field commitment from the Islamic Republic toward Lebanon—after this enemy, with full cover from the U.S. administration, has continued committing crimes against our country, and has once again targeted the Southern Suburbs (of Beirut). This comes as part of its ongoing violation of the ceasefire agreement, which underscores its disregard for all international agreements. Therefore, the Iranian response came to affirm that the interest of regional stability and its countries lies in making every possible effort to preserve these agreements and ensure that the Zionist enemy complies with them before anyone else. This is the message Iran sought to convey clearly and forcefully to all stakeholders involved in supporting stability in our region.

This response also coincided with the much-appreciated support of the Ansarullah movement in Yemen, within the framework of joint action to deter the Zionist entity and to make the U.S. administration understand that its support for the aggression against our country will undermine all agreements that it seeks—especially in light of the Islamic Republic’s insistence on including in any agreement with it a comprehensive halt to fighting across all fronts, and particularly in Lebanon, as a prelude to forcing the enemy to withdraw from our Lebanese land, to enable the return of displaced people, to resume reconstruction, and to secure the release of prisoners.

This Iranian support for our legitimate rights—along with bearing its financial and political costs—confirms once again that Iran is the one supporting Lebanon, not the other way around, based on its principles and humanitarian values, and on the depth of the historical relationship between the Lebanese and Iranian peoples. Iran has always wanted what is good for our country, and it has contributed to supporting our resistance in liberating our land and in rebuilding what the Zionist aggression destroyed. Iran’s honorable position alongside Lebanon deserves praise from its leaders, not denial and intentional insults made in response to external dictates. All voices funded by those dictates will not affect the credibility of this brave Iranian position and the rare faithfulness in an era where interests are prioritized over principles.

The baseless accusations issued by some authorities against Iran’s honorable role aimed at stopping Zionist aggression against Lebanon are completely rejected, because they contradict the truth and harm Lebanon’s interests. The unjust attacks on Iran—including the joint statement with the enemy and the U.S. administration against it—are outside all rules of diplomatic relations and a rejected and condemned alignment. They have served only the Zionist enemy.

We call on the Lebanese authorities to seize the available opportunity and correct their official relationship with the Islamic Republic in a way that serves the interests of both states. We also urge taking advantage of this Iranian support to achieve our national objectives—especially in light of the formation of the new regional umbrella arising from the Islamabad talks. By doing so, Lebanon’s state will be able, through indirect negotiations with the enemy, and relying on that umbrella and the factors of strength formed by the resistance, the firmness of the popular stance, and internal understandings, to achieve the demands of our people: the liberation of their land, the return of the displaced, the reconstruction of what was destroyed, and the preservation of national sovereignty.

In Hezbollah, and on behalf of our people, the families of our martyrs, the steadfast, the displaced, and on behalf of every free and honorable person in our homeland, we highly appreciate this pledge from Iran.

We salute the courage of this noble position of the Supreme Leader, the President, the Government, the Parliament, the Army, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and the sons of the Iranian people for their visible stand alongside our legitimate rights and our national cause—the rights for which we will continue to defend through our heroic resistance, until they are achieved, no matter how costly the sacrifices may be. Let our people remain on their land, living with dignity, honor, and freedom.
