The Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Sana’a issued an urgent warning on Thursday that continued US aggression against Iran will push the region toward a wider war, disrupt international supply chains, and threaten global economic stability. The statement came despite Washington’s declared ceasefire with Tehran, which Sanaa described as being repeatedly violated by US military strikes carried out under the pretext of “self-defense.”
In a strongly worded statement, the ministry said, “The ongoing US aggression against Iran will push the region toward a wider war with serious repercussions for the region and the world.”
It emphasized that continued attacks against Iran will not achieve Washington’s desired goals, nor will they succeed in breaking the will of the Iranian people or undermining their resilience. On the contrary, the ministry added, such aggression will lead to further US entanglement and a deepening of America’s strategic predicament, ultimately resulting in its utter failure.
The statement also noted that “the continued US aggression has serious repercussions for international supply chains and trade, as well as oil and energy markets, threatening global economic stability.”
The ministry further affirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s legitimate right to defend itself, its sovereignty, and its territorial integrity, as well as its right to respond to any aggression targeting its security and stability including strikes on US bases in the region.
Yemen, its leadership, government, and people, declared their full solidarity with their sister nation Iran, expressing support in confronting the US aggression and the blockade imposed upon it.
Despite the ceasefire Washington claimed to have reached with Tehran, the United States continues to launch attacks on Iran, justifying them as acts of “self-defense” without any legal or moral basis, according to the Sanaa-based ministry.
