Al-Manar Website publishes the main stipulations of the memorandum of understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America.
1. The nuclear file remains unchanged
The current memorandum of understanding does not include any agreement on the nuclear file, and Iran offers no new commitments. Nuclear negotiations will be held within a 60-day period after signing.
2. Strait of Hormuz: No concessions and no US role
Iran offers no commitment regarding relinquishing management of the Strait of Hormuz. The future of the strait’s administration will be decided as a regional matter through dialogue and joint decision-making between Tehran and the Sultanate of Oman.
3. Decisive end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon
The main objective of the memorandum is to end the war on all fronts in the region. The United States pledges to compel ‘Israel’ to end the war in Lebanon, and the text includes no reference to an “extension of the ceasefire”.
4. Release of frozen assets according to a specific mechanism
Part of Iran’s frozen assets will be released immediately upon signing, while the remainder will be released gradually during the negotiation period. Tehran has obtained clear guarantees according to the mechanisms it requested.
5. War compensation on the agenda
The damages suffered by Iran as a result of American and Israeli attacks are among the issues included in the memorandum. A mechanism for implementing compensation will be agreed upon during the 60-day negotiations following the signing.
6. Details of lifting primary and secondary sanctions
During the 60-day period, the lifting of all US sanctions and relevant international resolutions will be discussed within the framework of the nuclear negotiations.
7. Only three files and 60 days to reach a final agreement
Negotiations during the 60-day period will be limited to three topics:
-Continuation of the peaceful nuclear program.
-Lifting of unilateral US sanctions.
-Mechanism for compensating damages and losses.
No other topic, including Iranian missile capabilities, will be included on the agenda.
