Hezbollah’s Raad Warns Lebanese Authorities against Engaging with Israeli Enemy against Resistance

Hezbollah MP Mohammad Raad during an interview with AL-Manar (August 2025).

Head of Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc, Hajj Mohammad Raad called on the Lebanese authorities to carefully read the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding and draw out the facts and prospects that will weigh heavily on the reality of the region and the world, including Lebanon.

MP Raad also warned the Lebanese officials against underestimating Iran’s ability to fulfill its commitment to deter the Zionist enemy should it insist on violating the content of the understanding document that includes it.

MP Raad also advised the Lebanese authorities not to engage directly with the Zionist enemy in targeting the Resistance, because that is against the interest of Lebanon and the Lebanese.

What follows is the text of the statement:

In the Name of God, the Most Merciful, the Compassionate
Statement by the Head of the Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc, MP Hajj Mohammad Raad
18/6/2026

Following the signing of the understanding document regarding procedures to end the state of war between Iran, the ally of Lebanon — the state and the resistant people — and America, which some pillars of authority claim is Lebanon’s ally and friend…

I call on the authority to read the text of the understanding document accurately and objectively, and to draw out the facts and prospects that will weigh heavily on the reality of the region and the world, including dear Lebanon.

I also call on the authority to be wary of underestimating Iran’s ability to fulfill its commitment to deter the Zionist enemy should it insist on violating the content of the understanding document that includes it.

And I draw the authority’s attention: The time limit available to the enemy to withdraw completely from Lebanese land is exactly two months. During these two months it must strictly commit to a complete cessation of hostilities on land, sea, and air, and prepare and begin withdrawal within sixty days… with no need for any direct negotiation with it whatsoever.

Other than that, after reaching a national understanding according to constitutional, charter-based, and legal procedures, the authority can adopt the formula of indirect negotiation with the enemy to reactivate the Armistice Agreement in a way that suits the reality, and under the continued state of hostility that is agreed upon charter-wise and constitutionally.

For its part, the Resistance advises the authority not to engage directly with the Zionist enemy in targeting the Resistance, because that is against the interest of Lebanon and the Lebanese.

And on the other hand, in the name of those the Resistance represents in Lebanon, we tell the pillars of authority that the enemy’s war to eliminate the Resistance in Lebanon has failed and will not achieve its goals.

Despite everything the Resistance has faced from some pillars of authority and some political parties in the country, it affirms its readiness for internal national understanding regarding what guarantees Lebanon’s security, stability, and sovereign national interest, without intimidation from a Zionist enemy to whose aggression we will not surrender no matter how savage it becomes, and without invoking pressures whose only result from the authority’s response has been failure and sliding toward submission to what the enemy and its American ally dictate — an ally the authority claims is its friend.
