A special session to discuss the Israel escalation on Lebanon has been added to the schedule for the talks on the US-Iran deal in Switzerland, media reported as officials from Iran, US and Pakistan arrive in Zurich for the talks.

Citing a diplomat attending the talks, CBS News reported on Sunday that the special discussion is the first thing on the agenda.

The talks in Switzerland were scheduled to begin on Friday, after the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday. But they were delayed amid friction over Israeli escalation in Lebanon, with Iran announcing on Saturday it had re-closed the Strait of Hormuz.

Israeli Channel 12 reported later on Saturday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructing the occupation military to “hold its fire” in Lebanon.

Meanwhile on Sunday, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the head of the military, Asim Munir, arrived in Zurich for the talks, Sharif’s office announced.

“Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will participate in the High-Level Talks on the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding,” the Prime Minister’s Office writes on X, referring to the US-Iran deal to end the war.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a meeting with Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis.

An Iranian delegation including parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and FM Araghchi arrived late on Saturday.

US Vice President JD Vance also arrived in Switzerland for what he has said will likely be a couple of days of talks on implementing the US-Iran MoU.
