Hezbollah MP: Diplomacy Backed by Missiles Protects Beirut, Not Policies of Fear and Cowardice

Hezbollah MP Hasan Fadlallah during a local ceremony (Friday, June 12, 2026).

Member of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Hassan Fadlallah said Sunday ongoing Iran–US negotiations in Switzerland are anchored in the Lebanese file, stressing that Tehran has linked any progress to an immediate halt to Israeli aggression and a full withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

Speaking at a Hezbollah memorial service in Jnah, in southern Beirut, MP Fadlallah said “there will be no negotiations before a ceasefire, and no agreement before the enemy army withdraws,” adding that Iran is placing its broader interests, including its nuclear program, behind support for Lebanon.

“Our people and our resistance will draw strength from this fundamental factor, alongside steadfastness on the ground, in order to compel the Israeli enemy to halt its aggression and withdraw from our country,” he said, referring to the Iranian stance.

MP Fadlallah, meanwhile, sharply criticized the Lebanese government, accusing it of silence amid civilian casualties in southern Lebanon and questioning its capacity to negotiate or assert authority.

“During these two days, our blood has been shed in the south, while our women and children were being killed by the Israeli enemy, and we have heard no word from some officials.”

“We say only this: The resistance will remain, your rule will end, our weapons will stay in our hands, and our resistance will continue,” the Hezbollah lawmaker said, addressing the Lebanese government.

He further affirmed that “what protects Beirut today is diplomacy backed by Iranian missiles,” rejecting “policy of cowardness and concessions,” and reaffirming that Iran maintains a unified stance in support of Lebanon and the resistance.
