Iran’s top military command issued a stark warning on Friday against Israeli military aircraft approaching its airspace through neighboring countries, declaring such maneuvers a “dangerous act” and asserting Tehran’s unequivocal right to retaliate against any perceived hostile threat.

The Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, the Islamic Republic’s premier joint military command center, released a formal statement specifying that the movements of Israeli military jets whom it referred to as the “terrorist army of the Zionist regime “within the airspace of certain regional states, directed toward Iranian borders, constitute an unacceptable escalation.

“We consider the movements and presence of military aircraft of the terrorist army of the Zionist regime in the airspace of some neighboring countries toward Iran to be a dangerous act and a threat against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the statement read.

The military command escalated its rhetoric by directly addressing Washington, cautioning that should the United States fail to rein in its close ally, Iran would take matters into its own hands without hesitation.

“We declare that if the US is unable to restrain and control the Zionist regime, the Islamic Republic of Iran will not tolerate any threat against itself and considers responding to these dangerous actions as its right,” the headquarters warned, underscoring that Tehran’s patience is not limitless when it comes to the sanctity of its national airspace and territorial integrity.

While the statement did not specify which neighboring countries have been used for Israeli overflights, the warning serves as a pointed message to regional states that facilitating such military movements could draw severe repercussions. The development comes amid heightened regional tensions, with Tehran signaling that it holds the US ultimately accountable for curbing Israeli military adventurism in the region.
