Officials and Leaders from 40 Countries to Attend Funeral of Iran’s Sayyed Khamenei

Senior officials and leaders from around 40 countries are expected to attend the funeral ceremonies for the slain leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, according to the spokesperson for the farewell and funeral committee.

Speaking on July 1, 2026, committee spokesperson Iman Attarzadeh said that “leaders and official representatives from approximately 40 countries will participate in the ceremonies and attend to pay their respects to the esteemed status of the martyred leader.”

Attarzadeh said the funeral and farewell ceremonies would draw not only large public crowds but also a broad international presence.

A new mural titled “The Last Farewell” has been unveiled in Tehran’s Valiasr Square ahead of the farewell and funeral ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei.

“In addition to the massive public participation, political, cultural, scientific, religious, academic, and intellectual figures from across the world will attend the farewell and funeral ceremonies in Tehran to pay tribute to the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution,” he said.

He added that leaders and official delegations comprising senior government officials from around 40 countries would also take part in the ceremonies “to pay their respects to the martyred leader.”

Attarzadeh said further details regarding the level of representation, the participating countries, and the identities of attending foreign officials would be announced in the coming days by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
